Frequently Asked Questions

I have been processing for years, but I have never worked on the Broker side. Will I be a good fit?

This depends on you...

We always want to be clear and transparent, so it is important to note that most of our clients are Brokers. We have seen that it is hard for some processors to transition from Retail to Broker due to the additional steps, variations, and workflows. But, we do have many processors on our team which came from retail and absolutely CRUSH it. Take a moment to complete our Processor Assessment and we will be in touch with you to talk out opportunities and if it will be a good fit. We want our team members that join us to be successful, so we will always be direct and honest with feedback that affects your life and career decisions.

I heard from others in the industry that Hancock Processing treats this as a Sales position, what does that mean?

Absolutely, we do, and we take a ton of pride in this aspect of our business. All of our loan processors are in fact Account Executives responsible for prospecting, building, and nurturing relationships through sales activities to obtain new/more clients to build their book of business.

Regardless of what industry you work in, salespeople always get the sick comp plans. Why? They bring in the business! We have worked in supporting roles as loan processors for so long, watching salespeople go out and make a killing. Don't get us wrong, we do not want to be loan officers, but we want the ability to turn things up using our sales skills! So, we sell! We reach out to loan officers and brokers to obtain more business, get more loans, and make more money! Hancock Processing does have loan officers and brokers to connect you with to get you rolling with some loans, and we are always bringing in more business at the company level to be able to pass out to our hardworking team members, but we always want our team keeping sales focus in mind as that is where we see processors go from good, to GREAT!

I like to build relationships with my LOs, I hate round robin setups where I have to start fresh with each person, can I work with the same LOs I build relationships with or do I have to accept random files assigned to me each time?

RELATIONSHIPS RULE ALL!

We do NOT do a round robin setup. The relationship with your loan officer is the MOST important aspect of closing loans smoothly.

We are ALL ABOUT building relationships with a loan officer instead of changing hands all the time - No round robin. Find great LOs, build relationships with great LOs, and make magic happen.

Do I need to already have loan officers I am working with to come on board?

It is preferable to come on board with at least some sort of book of business, but not entirely necessary. There is nothing better than hitting the ground running, so of course this is always a win. But, if you do not have a book of business, we are absolutely interested anyway!

From time to time we will limit hiring just to candidates that do have a book of business, but that is only because we may be very balanced at that time with processor to loan ratios. We do NOT want to just bring people on if there is limited excess opportunity as we want you to be successful and get off to a good start. We also do not want to move opportunity from existing team members to new team members as that is never fair to take money out of someone else's pocket. If you do not have a book of business, and we have a ton of loans for you to be able to work right away, we would love to have you! But, if we are not in that position at a given moment, we will let you know, and maybe there will be opportunity to circle back around down the line as things are ever changing.

I currently work directly for a Broker as an in-house processor, but you pay more, and I am not getting enough files from them. What can I do?

Perfect, simple answer.

We can hire you, pay you, and you can still work with your current Broker just as you do right now with no disruption. Your Broker will be happy, because they no longer pay you, still get to work with you, and simply put the processing fee on the CD to be charged to the borrower at closing. Plus, you can now do more files for other Brokers to make more money without having to go ask for a raise from your current Broker.

How often do you pay commissions?

We pay commission weekly, every Friday.

Do you have overseas staff or are they based in the US?

100% of our team is based in the US.

Can I get paid on loans other team members close under accounts I bring in?

Yes!

We do pay out commission spiffs to our team members that bring in accounts which other team members process. This is an excellent residual income opportunity for our team members!

Do I have to be licensed to work for you, or do you pay W2 so I am covered under the company licenses?

You do not have to be licensed! We hire W2 employees that work under our company licenses. You can process loans in any state that we are licensed in as a company.

Do I have to pay for or provide anything of my own to do this job like computer or software?

You will use your own computer and hardware; we do not provide hardware.

We do provide all the necessary software that you will use. You do not pay for any software unless you use something outside of the scope of what we provide.
